Michael first broke on to the Commentary scene in 2006 when he was given the opportunity to commentate on a series of Hockey events for Eurosport. Since then he has gone on to commentate on a variety of other sports including: Skiing, Formula 1, Surfing, Rugby and Football. Since 2006 he has worked for BBC Sport, Sky Sports, Neo Sports, Star Sports, Eurosport and most recently in 2016 BT Sport.


As a former England Under 18 Hockey player Michael is able to share his love for the sport with the audience explaining the more technical aspects of the game in a refreshingly new and enthusiastic manner. He has featured at all the major Hockey events since 2006 including The Hockey World Cup, The Champions Trophy, The Indoor Hockey World Cup, London 2012 Olympics and  also the Hockey India League.


Michael is a qualified ski instructor (CSIA level 3) and spent 3 seasons working as a ski instructor in Canada (Mont Tremblant, Quebec). He therefore has a genuine passion for skiing and has commentated on The Alpine Skiing World Cup since 2007 on both Eurosport and BBC Sport .

Formula One

Michael has been heavily involved with many live events on the BBC’s ‘Red Button’. In 2009 he hosted an alternative commentary stream for youngsters and new comers to Formula 1 called ‘CBBC F1’ and has commentated on numerous Grand Prix’s since.


Michael is keen to keep developing his reporting and commentating skills and would relish any opportunities to work on other sports including Cricket, Golf, and Tennis.
