Lovely feature in September’s copy of ShortList Magazine by Dan Brightmore
For Michael Absalom a bad hair day is not an option. Presenting on Sky Sports, the BBC and BT Sport, he knows he’ll be judged both on his appearance. “I work in an industry where it’s essential to look good,” says Michael. “Looking good, you feel good and I know I’ll do a better job as a presenter.
I think that feeling comes across to the audience”.Michael feels it’s his natural enthusiasm that sets him apart. Looking his best fuels that. “It gives me confidence when I’m meeting high profile players,” he says.

“You want to do a good interview and leave your mark. I’m still climbing that career ladder, so to be remembered for the right reasons is vital.” Michael has a quick morning routine, but pays close attention to his hair.“I’ll tailor my look to each job,” he reveals.
YOU DON’T NEED TO FOLLOW A TREND; JUST DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU FEEL CONFIDENT.
“We men can lose our hair as we get older, so it’s important to find the right shampoo for you that keeps it healthy.” Michael reckons you shouldn’t be afraid to experiment to find your perfect look. His advice? “Spike it up, swoosh it over, grow it long or shave it off. You don’t need to follow a trend; just do whatever makes you feel confident.”
Thanks for a great day out. Really enjoyed filming this feature with the team ShortList Magazine.
